JuJu Watkins has been very impressive as a freshman in the 2023/24 season so far. She was notable for scoring 32 points and helping her team gain an upset victory against the Ohio State Buckeyes on November 6, 2023. With this, she broke the record of Lisa Leslie from 1990 and established the team record for most points scored by a freshman in her debut.


She followed this up with her first double double with 31 points and 12 rebounds in a victory against the Penn State Nittany Lions with a score of 71-70 on November 22, 2024. She scored three straight 30 points during her games and tied with Cheryl Miller for the longest record streak in the history of the team.


She scored 51 points and 11 rebounds, her career high so far in a 67-58 win against the Stanford Cardinal on February 2, 2024, thereby exceeding the single game scoring record of Cherie Nelson since 1989. During the season, she also broke Paula McGee’s program freshman single season scoring record with 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 68-74 loss to the Utah Utes.


After the 2023/24 season JuJu Watkins became a member of Pac-12 All Freshman Team, Pac-12 All-Defensive Team-media, All-Pac12 Team and First Team All-American-AP, USBWA in 2024. She was also declared as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and USBWA National Freshman of the Year in 2024.

After her senior season, she was declared as Gatorade National Player of the Year and Naismith Prep Player of the Year.


She also participated in MacDonald’s All-American Game and became the MVP in 2023. She graduated from Sierra Canyon School in 2023.
