J’Wan Roberts is a forward for the Houston Cougars, a team competing in the Big 12 Conference of the NCAA Division I. He is a graduate student as of the 2024-2025 season. As a redshirt freshman, he made his collegiate debut against Lamar with a victory in the season-opener. He registered the first double-double of his career by recording 10 points and 11 rebounds with the win against Our Lady of the Lake.

During his sophomore year, Roberts made his season debut with the season-opening win in overtime against Hofstra. He also bagged a school single-season record to complete in all 38 contests and was one of the four players from the team to play all games. In the American Athletic Conference tournament, Roberts registered 2.1 offensive rebounds per game and was ranked 10th and third among the Cougars, as per his college roster. As a junior in the 2022-23 season, Roberts appeared in 37 games and started 36 of them while averaging 10.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.32 blocks per contest. He also became one of the three Cougars to complete in all 37 games. Roberts registered 19 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, recording the team's first double-double of the season against Saint Joseph. As a senior, he became Houston’s Top-10 career leaders in several categories, including wins, games played, and rebounds.
