Jamaree Caldwell is an American college football defensive lineman who recently transferred to the Oregon Ducks after two years at Houston. Caldwell started his football career at Newberry High School, where he was a two-way standout player and played as a left guard and left tackle. He was an unranked prospect according to 247Sports data. Caldwell was part of the 2019 recruiting cycle and signed with Hutchinson Community College, where he played as an offensive lineman but switched to the defensive line in his next year with Independence Community College in 2021. In his freshman season, Caldwell saw action in only four games and made seven tackles, three tackles for loss, and half a sack.

After one lone season at Independence, Caldwell transferred to Houston, where he would then spend the next two years of his collegiate career. The four-star defensive lineman saw action in nine games and registered 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in 2022. His breakthrough campaign was in 2023, when he recorded 27 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 11 games for the Cougars. In his two seasons with the Cougars, Caldwell tallied 39 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. After the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, Caldwell entered the transfer portal and transferred to the Oregon Ducks for his final year of eligibility. He was the #2 defensive player in the portal and will be the more experienced player on the Oregon defense in the 2024 season.
