#5 Parvinder Awana

Parvinder Awana, the right-arm pacer from Delhi, was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in 2012 after he had a brilliant Ranji trophy season. His abilities to bowl sharp and move the ball off the pitch fetched him a national call-up for the T20 series against England in 2012.

Having conceded 71 runs at a very high economy of 11.83 in the two matches he played, he was dropped from the squad with immediate effect. He struggled in the IPL as well after that and has found no bidders in the auction since 2015.

With Bhuvneshwar Kumar becoming India's main swing bowler, the selectors haven't availed the services of Awana since. Awana has since completely gone off the radar due to his lack of consistency.

#4 Munaf Patel

Munaf Patel played a crucial role in India's World Cup victory in 2011. The medium-pacer contributed immensely by taking wickets at regular intervals and also by slowing down the momentum of the opposition.

However, these skills have been a thing of the past for Patel as he has struggled to gain the faith of selectors and also find an IPL franchise. His abilities as a bowler being on the wane saw his state side Baroda leave him out from their squad.

Patel has not represented India since 2011. Due to lack of match practice and fitness, he has not been given a look-in either by the IPL franchises or selectors after representing Gujarat Lions in 2017.

#3 Parvez Rasool

Parvez Rasool, the all-rounder from Jammu & Kashmir, shot to prominence when he performed extremely well for J&K with the limited opportunities he got during the 2012-13 Ranji season.

His consistency saw him rewarded with IPL contracts and call-ups in 2013, but it has been a different story for him while donning the blue jersey. Rasool can bowl off-spin but cannot really get through the defence of the batsmen. Also, this weakness in his bowling undermines his batting abilities. 2017 was the last time we saw Rasool in Indian colours.

With the likes of Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya playing the role of batting all-rounder for India, Rasool has not been able to make it back to the national team since his only T20I against England.

#2 Pragyan Ojha

Pragyan Ojha was in and out of the Indian team till 2013. In Sachin Tendulkar's farewell match against West Indies, he was adjudged as the man of the match after he finished with figures of 10/89.

But since then, he has not been a part of the side and was dropped in favour of fellow left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

Ojha's exclusion from the side can be attributed to his ineffective fielding and sub-par bowling at the domestic level at the time. He was also released by Mumbai Indians in 2015 due to the same reasons. The left-arm orthodox spinner has since retired from all forms of the game.

#1 Praveen Kumar

Praveen Kumar was one of the mainstays in the Indian team until he lost his place in the side due to fitness issues. The medium pacer's abilities to swing the ball both ways and generate good bounce were overshadowed by state teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well.

The veteran's injury problems have forced the selectors to drop him, although he is a seasoned campaigner. His ineffective bowling and sloppy fielding issues further prevented teams from bidding for Kumar in the IPL.

As a plethora of young bowlers make a mark and move above the ranks, Praveen Kumar's career remains in a cloud of uncertainty. He is currently plying his trade for Uttar Pradesh at the domestic level.
