#2 Irfan Pathan

The Saurashtra all-rounder was in the CSK ranks in the 2015 edition of the IPL. Irfan did not get a single game and had to spend the entire season warming the bench. Subsequently, he joined the RPS and Gujarat Lions during CSK's two-year suspension.

Irfan Pathan is up for grabs at the auction again and the CSK should target a quality all-rounder like him. The fact that he is an Indian fast bowler itself adds a lot of value to the table. Irfan can be a great back-up for Dwayne Bravo should the West Indian rockstar miss a few games.

#1 Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma perfectly fits into the CSK squad.
Mohit Sharma perfectly fits into the CSK squad.

The Haryana fast bowler was in the CSK ranks from 2013 to 2015 edition of the IPL. He was Dhoni's most-trusted bowler in the death overs because of his variations and slower deliveries.

Subsequently, Mohit was drafted into the KXIP squad after his old franchise was handed a two-year suspension. Mohit, now back in the auction pool again, could be grabbing the eyeballs of the CSK owners and is a very good option for the men in yellow.

He has been a regular in the CSK setup since then. He has been MS Dhoni's go-to man in the death overs. Since CSK need an experienced Indian fast-bowler, Mohit is the best bet at the moment. He has played 84 matches picking 90 wickets at an economy rate of 8.4.
