IPL 2025 concluded recently, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB thus won the IPL for the first time in the history of the T20 league. They reached the finals three times before, but failed to lift the title, finishing runners-up in all three editions.

IPL is renowned for slam-bang cricket, with batters coming in and going after the bowlers from ball one. The season that ended recently was another illustration of how the tournament is heavily loaded in favor of batters, with the 200-plus mark being breached time and again.

Despite the T20 league being skewed in favor of the batters, players still need unique skills to succeed with the willow in the IPL. The tournament is in complete contrast to Test cricket, which tests the resolve and technique of batters under varied conditions. However, there are some batters who done well in both the IPL and Test cricket.
