Ambati Rayudu has always been known as one of the most talented batsmen in the Indian domestic circuit. However, inconsistency has always been his bane. He enjoyed some very good years in the IPL with the Mumbai Indians and played many match-winning innings for them. However, it was during this season that Rayudu under the tutelage of MS Dhoni really came into his own.
Extremely adaptable Rayudu played as an opener as well as in the middle order for CSK - as and when his team required. He amassed 602 runs in the tournament from 16 matches at an average of 43 and a stunning strike-rate of 149.75. His highest score of the tournament came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad when he slammed an unbeaten hundred to lead his team to victory.
