South Africa launched their first global T20 league, the Mzansi Super League in 2018 and was able to unearth some local talent of its own. Right Handed attacking batsman Rassie Van Der Dussen was one of them.

Representing the Jozi Stars, Rassie Van Der Dussen was at his destructive best in the inaugural season of the Mzansi Super League. He was the highest run-getter in the tournament amassing a total of 469 runs in 11 innings at an average of 58.62 and a strike rate of 138.75. He scored 4 fifties in total and was the league leader in 6's with 23 to his name.

His performance led to a national call-up by the Proteas for the T20I series against Zimbabwe, where he scored a half-century on debut. Rassie made his ODI debut against Pakistan where he scored 93 in his debut innings, he already has 3 fifties in just 5 innings and has an overall average of 136.5!.
