One of the major reasons for Chennai Super Kings' incredible performance last season was the form of Ambati Rayudu. Starting the tournament at the unfamiliar position of an opener, Rayudu played some match-winning innings for the franchise. Rayudu ended the tournament with 602 at an average of 43.

His terrific IPL form led to his selection in the national side as he was selected for the tour of England. Unfortunately, he missed the tour due to injury. Rayudu made a comeback in the Asia Cup and continued his good form in the home series against the West Indies.

He also had a good time in Australia and New Zealand and looked all set to seal a berth in India's World Cup squad. But a poor series against Australia has changed everything and Rayudu now finds himself in danger of losing out from the World Cup squad.

This will have a huge bearing on Rayudu's approach in the IPL and the World Cup squad selection will surely affect his batting.
