The cash-rich IPL has accounted for multiple cost-reductions ahead of the new season scheduled to begin from March 29. The winners of IPL 2020 along with the runners-up as well as the third and fourth-placed sides (loser of Qualifier 2 playoff match and loser of the eliminator playoff match respectively) will get the half the money assigned to them as compared to IPL 2019.

The winner will take home ₹10 crores instead of ₹20 crore, finalists will net ₹6.25 crores rather than the ₹12.5 crores. The third and fourth-placed teams place will receive ₹4.375 crores each, and not ₹8.75 crores like last year.
