MS Dhoni is set to return for CSK

Since India’s loss to New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, MS Dhoni has refused to quell speculation on his future. The wicket-keeper, despite not officially announcing retirement, hasn’t made himself available for any limited-overs series over the past six months.

However, while his future in national colours still remains under a cloud, N Srinivasan went ahead and confirmed that Dhoni would be representing Chennai Super Kings not just in 2020, but also in 2021.

Dhoni will play this year, next year he will go to the Auction and we will retain him.

Thus, at this juncture, it seems that Indian fans would be catching a glimpse of Dhoni for the next couple of years, even it is only in the IPL.

The past few months have seen Prithvi Shaw’s career being marred by numerous off-field controversies. In July 2019, the opener was handed a retrospective eight-month ban whereas he was also accused of indulging in acts of indiscipline towards the end of the year.

Moreover, he had to contend with a slight shoulder injury that he picked up in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy encounter against Karnataka. Thus, rather unsurprisingly, plenty of eyes were trained on his return to India A colours. And, he delivered in some style, cracking a sublime 150 off 100 deliveries.

Prithvi’s innings was laced with 22 fours and 2 sixes and he helped catapult India A to a mammoth total of 362 in 50 overs. Ultimately, New Zealand XI failed to scale the aforementioned peak, meaning that India A scraped through by 12 runs.
