It was the third Test between Australia and South Africa. What was on display was a highly competitive series until Australia decided to use Sandpaper to get some reverse swing going on the ball. The chief architects of this awful act saw Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft, in the mix of things.

Being caught live on television, the Aussies had to accept their ill-doing. Cricket Austalia imposed hard punishments on all three players. Skipper Smith and vice-captain David Warner were banned for 12 months while young Bancroft had to relinquish cricket for the next nine months. Even coach, Darren Lehmann resigned off his duties.

All this had a very serious impact on Australian cricket, as the team is still going through one of the worst phases in their cricketing history.
