8. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Zaheer Khan

Zaheer Khan
RCB had a forgetful inaugural IPL season after finishing seventh with just four wins from 14 matches but there were some fine contributions with the bat and the ball. One such contribution was from India’s leading pacer Zaheer Khan who ended up as the highest wicket-taker for RCB that season.
In the 11 matches that he played in that season, he picked up 13 wickets at a strike rate of 19.38. His three-wicket haul against CSK at Bangalore was impressive, but RCB went on to lose that match. In another match against Mumbai, his spell of 2 for 17 was one of the key performances for the victory.
Zaheer as always was very good with the new as well as with the old ball. His ability to use the old ball to generate the reverse swing in the second spell was second to none. He moved to the Mumbai Indians the following season.
