Gujarat Titans won a last over thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders by eight runs at the Dr DY Patil Stadium.

Titans captain Hardik Pandya's incredible 67 runs in 49 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes guided Titans to a defendable 156 for 9 in the first innings.

Titans pacer Mohammed Shami dismissed the KKR openers Sam Billings and Sunil Narine early in the 157-run chase. Nitish Rana fell to a Lockie Ferguson short ball by nicking one behind the wickets, only for DRS to confirm there was a spike on the bat.

Shreyas Iemyer departed just after the powerplay with young speedster Yash Dayal forcing him to nick one behind. Rinku Singh and Venkatesh Iyer delivered some runs in the middle before the former was caught by Wriddhiman Saha off Dayal.

KKR were 108/7 after 15.2 overs but the game was not over. Gujarat Titans bowlers faced the wrath of Andre Russell's intensity. He clubbed Dayal for two sixes and a four in the 13th over and later capitalised on a full toss on off stump by Ferguson. The result? A flat-batted with a vigorous swing in the bat was sent down the ground for six.

Russell unfurled the upper cut shot off Shami to clear the third man by a few margin for another maximum. Umesh Yadav joined the power-hitting fest, dispatching one over long-on for a six against Ferguson.

Russell hammered two more sixes before Ferguson took a stunning catch to end the fightback of the West Indies all-rounder. Russell was dismissed for 48 runs in 25 balls as KKR fell eight runs short of the moderate target.
