IPL: 10 most expensive flops in the IPL history
#9 Kevin Pietersen (Rs 7 crore to RCB in 2009)
The English batsman was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for approximately Rs 7 crore in the second season of the IPL. He was the costliest player of the season along with Andrew Flintoff. Pietersen, who was one of the best batsmen in the world at that point of time, had a flop show in the season.
Pietersen could manage to score just 93 runs in 6 matches that he played in the season. He was handy with the ball picking 4 wickets at an economy of 6.53.
