Man of the Match Pravin Tambe took a ‘rare’ hat-trick

42-year-old leg-spinner of Rajasthan Royals, Pravin Tambe claimed the first hat-trick of IPL 7, bringing Kolkata Knight Riders to its knees after they had almost too easily run to the target.

After the openers were dismissed by skipper Shane Watson, Tambe demolished the middle order, dismissing Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Ryan ten Doeschate off successive deliveries.

Tambe achieved the feat in just 2 legal deliveries, making it a rare event. The only other bowler who had done it earlier in T20 cricket, was Sri Lanakan left-arm medium pacer Isuru Udana who did so in 2010 Champions League T20 for Wayamba against Central Districts.
