The 36-year-old Indian fast bowler, Ashish Nehra is going to miss the next couple of matches for his Indian Premier League franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Indian bowling spearhead suffered a groin injury during their match against the Royal Challengers at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Nehra had played his previous couple of IPL editions for Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
However, when the franchise was suspended for a couple of years due to their alleged involvement in a number of match-fixing scandals, the premium pacer was bought by the Hyderabad-based franchise for a whopping amount of Rs. 5.5 crore.
The 36-year-old's first match for the Sunrisers wasn't one worth remembering as he was seen limping off the field after conceding 21 runs in just 2.1 overs.
After his side was crushed to a 45-run defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper, David Warner said, “We have to look back and look at positives and turn it around. We have a good batting track at Hyderabad. We should not lose wickets in clumps.”
When about the status of the injured Ashish Nehra, he replied, “Nehra has hurt his groin. He will be out for a couple of games.”
Nehra had been in fine form in the recently concluded ICC World T20 2016 where his superb bowling performance helped the ‘Men in Blue’ secure a semi-final spot against West Indies. He picked up a total of five wickets throughout the course of the tournament at a stellar economy rate of 5.94 runs per over.
The Delhi fast bowler was also in a sublime form during the Asia Cup in Bangladesh which took place earlier this year. Nehra wrapped up six wickets in the four matches that had played at a decent economy rate of 7 runs per over.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently languishing at the seventh position on the Vivo Indian Premier League table, just above the bottom-placed, Mumbai Indians.
David Warner's side will be playing their next couple of matches at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. They will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on 16 April and 18 April respectively.
