Batsmen: With injuries to the likes of Smith, Pietersen and du Plessis who will miss rest of the IPL, there are huge gaps in the Pune batting line-up to fill. The onus will be on someone like Rahane to deliver and the opening batsman from Mumbai has been among the runs scoring a total of 280 runs this season.

Usman Khawaja is likely to make his IPL debut against the Daredevils, a lot might be expected from the Aussie southpaw who had a brilliant Big Bash for the Sydney Thunders and a solid World T20 with Australia. All-Rounders: Thisara Perera and Rajat Bhatia are likely to start for Pune. While Morkel has featured in only two games of the Supergiants, Perera has been a regular and has been brilliant with the ball picking up 8 wickets and has come in handy with the bat towards with end with little cameos. Rajat Bhatia has been a regular for the Supergiants and the Delhi all-rounder will make up the all-rounders department for Pune.

Bowlers: Scot Boland made his debut in the IPL this season in Pune’s last against Mumbai. He might not have got a wicket, but the Aussie impressed with his bowling abilities. He might be sharing the new ball with Ashok Dinda, the lanky pacer has picked up half a dozen wickets playing only 3 games. Ravichandran Ashwin and Murugan Ashwin, had a promising start to the IPL and since then their form had dipped and the off-break and leg-break bowlers will look to get their magic touch back against Delhi. R.Ashwin has struggled to get breakthroughs for Pune only picking up 3 wickets while Murugan Ashwin has picked up 7 wickets this term, recently though the wickets have dried up for the leg-break bowler. Both of them will look to spun their way around the Delhi batsmen
