The Delhi Daredevils finally brought an end to their losing streak in a comprehensive manner as they registered an emphatic victory over the in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets and 5 balls to spare. It was a day of fabulous cricket as we witnessed a perfect battle between the bat and the ball.
Yuvraj Singh who lit up the match with his entertaining innings of 70* off just 41 deliveries. However, a few bowlers from both sides stole the show with their perfect execution of the yorker.
The Sunrisers were off to a perfect start once again, with their openers, Dhawan and Warner, stitching together a partnership of 53 runs in no time. Both batsmen looked to be in prime form as they smashed the bowlers all around the park in the powerplay overs.

Be it Chris Morris or Rabada, the duo spared no one! However, Mohammed Shami came on to bowl in the last over of powerplay and did what no other bowler had done yet in the entire tournament so far.
He bowled a fast yorker at over 140 clicks which found a way past Warner’s gate and crashed straight into the base of middle and off-stump. The SRH captain who was batting very well on 30 off just 20 deliveries had to depart thanks to some brilliant bowling.
Although Warner was stopped, the Sunrisers still went on to post a total of over 180 runs on the board courtesy of a vintage batting display by Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj was in a belligerent mood in his innings of 70*(41), striking 11 fours and 1 six. Little did the Sunrisers know that even that good a total with the kind of bowling attack to their disposal wasn’t going to be enough against a struggling Daredevils side.
Just when everyone thought that Shami’s yorker was the best one seen so far in the tournament, Mohammad Siraj produced another terrific yorker that completely bamboozled Rishabh Pant. The young Delhi wicket-keeper was batting very well on 34 (19).
Just before his dismissal, he had dispatched Siraj to the boundary with utmost ease. It was the knuckleball that Siraj had bowled. However, the very next delivery had an increase in pace by 27kph and was pitched right on the batsman’s toes.
Deceived by the difference in pace, Pant missed the yorker and it crashed straight into his stumps. It was the 12th over of the innings and the young left-handed batsman was running away with the game with his terrific hitting. However, Siraj soon changed that and revived Sunrisers’ hopes with the dismissal of Pant.
