Short has fallen short of expectations

After Rajasthan Royals bought him for a whopping 4 crores, he was supposed to be one of the players to watch out for.

He was the best batsman in the BBL and scored 504 runs in the tournament. There were huge expectations from him in the absence of Steven Smith.

Contrary to the expectations, he turned out to be a huge flop. In the four matches that he has played, he has just scored 65 runs at a strike rate of 97.01.

His poor contributions at the top of the order have affected the other batsmen as they had to up the ante. Due to his poor form, he was dropped in the last two matches.

With the arrival of Davy Klassen and Jofra Archer being fit, it is doubtful if Short gets another opportunity to prove his worth.
