Ambati Rayudu was one of the most consistent batsmen in the tournament. He played a prominent role in Chennai Super Kings finishing 2nd on the points table and ultimately winning the title.

Chennai Super Kings bought Rayudu for a price of Rs. 2.2 crore after engaging in a bidding war which was short-lived. Bought at such a low price, Rayudu has paid back every penny with his fantastic performance.

In the season, he scored 602 runs at an average of 43.00 and a strike rate of 149.75. He finished 4th on the list of highest run scorers. He scored a century and 3 fifties in the season.

Rayudu who used to be a regular in the Indian team has been sitting out of internationals for close to 2 years now. On the back of his magnificent performance in the IPL, he was immediately rewarded with a call-up to the ODI team for the tour of England.
