No, these are not the cumulative marks which my nephew has got in his final examinations. Instead, these are the runs that Warner made for SRH in the last four years.

In two of those editions, the left-hander clinched the Orange Cap while in 2016, he finished second only to Virat Kohli, who stacked up 973 runs for the Royal Challengers Bangalore that year.

The team management relied heavily on Warner to get them off to a good start and more often than not, he delivered the goods for the side.

In each of the four editions, he finished with a minimum strike-rate of 140 and that number is indicative of a player with the ability to take the game away from the opposition when on song.

Often, the foundation laid by Warner with Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order played a significant role in the side either chasing the total down or setting an imposing target for the opposition.

Can the franchise find anyone who could come close to being as impactful with the bat as Warner was for them? We will find out soon.
