Manish Pandey is the first Indian to hit an IPL century and majorly remembered for his match-winning knock for Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals against Kings XI Punjab in 2014. The 28-year-old was roped-in by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹11 crores.
The Karnataka batsman has played IPL since its inception and there hasn't been a season where he scored more than two fifties. Furthermore, his career strike-rate looks ordinary, 120.11 to be specific. It is understandable that SRH's middle-order woes along with KKR's sniff through right to match (RTM) have led to a high price tag, but without questioning his capabilities, a number around ₹5-6 crores would have made more sense.
