In addition to that, Virat needs 582 more runs to become the first ever player in the history of IPL to score 5000 runs. Moreover, the RCB skipper will become only the first ever player in the history of world cricket to complete 5000 runs in a single domestic T20 tournament. Another top contender for the record is Suresh Raina who currently leads the chart in IPL with 4540 runs to his name.

Presently, Murali Vijay (127 off 56 balls) holds the record for the highest ever individual score by an Indian in the history of IPL. Meanwhile, next on the list is Virender Sehwag (122) followed by Paul Valthaty (120*).
