IPL 2018: 4 uncapped benched players who would have been an ideal pick for some other team 

The 11th edition of Indian Premier League is in progress and this edition promises to be the most exciting due to a number of reasons. On field action has definitely made this edition the most exciting one as we have seen established teams failing this season and some of the underrated teams performing extremely well.

IPL has always been about giving the uncapped Indian players an opportunity to display their talent on the biggest stage. A number of players have made it into the Indian team on the back of impressive IPL performances.

The 11th season of IPL has already brought a number of talents to the fore but there are a number of other players who aren't being utilized in the present season. These players would have been an ideal addition to some of the other teams.

#4) Rahul Chahar

Chahar was a part of the Under 19 team till recently

Rahul Chahar is an exciting young leg-spinner and is a talent with enormous potential. He was part of the Rising Pune Super Giants squad last year and he also played in 3 matches last year.

He hasn't yet got a single game this season as Mumbai Indians have preferred Markande over Chahar. Markande has also performed brilliantly for the side and has held the purple cap on multiple occasions this year.

Chahar is a brilliant leg-spinner and is capable of turning the match on its head by his bowling. He is a genuine wicket taker and there are a number of teams which are lacking quality leg spinners and he would have been a good pick for those teams.

#3 Dhruv Shorey

Shorey has had a great domestic season this year

Dhruv Shorey plays for Delhi in the Ranji trophy and he has been impressive this year. He has got just a single game in IPL this year as the Chennai team is filled with quality batsmen in the team and he is only the 4th choice opener for the team

Shorey is an opening batsman and he played in that role for the Delhi team in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. He was extremely impressive in that competition and was selected in the Chennai squad on the basis of his performances in that tournament.

Shorey is a class player and has the ability to hit the big shots. He is a player who is capable of using the power play to his advantage and will be more effective as an opener. RCB and Rajasthan Royals are struggling with their opening combination and he would have been an ideal fit for these teams.

#2 Thangarasu Natarajan

Natarajan is one of the best bowlers in T20s in India

Natarajan shot into limelight after a stunning year in the 2016 Tamil Nadu Premier League. He was selected by the Kings XI Punjab team for the 2017 IPL. He didn't perform to the best of his abilities for Punjab last year and hence has been out of favor for most teams.

Natarajan was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad this year but the team boasts of the best domestic names in its bowling department and it is extremely unlikely that Natarajan would get a game for the side.

Natarajan has a slingy action and is a bowler who is difficult to pick. He has the ability to bowl toe-crushing yorkers and is an accurate bowler. He is a wicket-taking bowler and teams like CSK and RCB would love to have him now.

#1 Basil Thampi

Thampi is a brilliant bowler in T20s

Basil Thampi is one of the best bowlers in domestic cricket in India and is a part of an impressive bowling attack in Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is among the best T20 bowlers in the country and will be a great addition to any team.

Hyderabad has plenty of ammunition in fast bowling with the likes of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and T Natarajan in their fold. With such an impressive line up of fast bowlers, the team is unlikely to give a match to Thampi in the absence of any injuries.

Thampi is a brilliant bowler and it is only fair that he gets some matches in some other team. All the teams except Hyderabad are in need of a fast bowler and Thampi would have been a great addition to any team.
