IPL 2018: CSK vs DD, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) probable playing XI against Delhi Daredevils (DD)

Chennai Super Kings welcome Delhi Daredevils to their adopted home in Pune for the 2018 Indian Premier League's 30th encounter. While DD come into the match on the back of a resounding win over Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK were held back by Mumbai Indians who beat them by eight wickets.

The Super Kings will be forced to make changes to their playing XI as their new-ball bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the tournament for two weeks.

As far as opening is concerned, the Dhoni-led team has a settled pair of Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson. While Rayudu is the highest run-scorer and holds the Orange Cap with 329 runs, his Australian partner has over 200 runs to his name as well.

Walking in at number three would be Suresh Raina, who returned to form with a knock of 75 against MI and would want to continue this rich vein of form. MS Dhoni, with 235 runs and two half-centuries, has returned to his brilliant best this term and would lead the middle order.

The lower middle order would consist of Sam Billings, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja and David Willey. While Bravo has been impressive with the bat, the pair of Jadeja and Billings need to fire.

Willey would be drafted in for Deepak Chahar to take up the responsibility of bowling with the new ball.

As a result of Willey's inclusion, the Chennai-based team will have to leave out a foreigner and the sword might fall on Imran Tahir. Indian left-arm spinner Karn Sharma will replace the South African, most probably.

Harbhajan Singh and Shardul Thakur would complete the CSK line up. Thought the fast bowler has been among the wickets with eight of them to his name, the experienced off-spinner hasn't performed to his potential and has only three wickets to show for. If Harbhajan wishes to hold onto his spot in the XI, he needs to get back to his best.
