IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils, Match Prediction

Both, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, who lost their first two games of the Indian Premier League season, will take on each other at the Wankhede stadium in order to open their account this year.

Mumbai, who lost two humdingers against the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, will look to get back to winning ways. They made a phenomenal comeback in the previous match against the Sunrisers and almost took the match away from them. However, Deepak Hooda ensured that the 2016 champions didn't slip up in the end by hitting a six in the penultimate over.

Billy Stanlake kept his nerve to hit the winning runs against Ben Cutting, who was bowling the final over.

On the other hand, Delhi Daredevils performed well in the first innings against the Rajasthan Royals to restrict them to 153 in 18 overs on a flat track. However, due to the rain, the Daredevils were forced to score 71 in just 6 overs, which they failed to do.

The Royals bowlers bowled extremely well as Delhi fell 10 runs short in the end.

Gautam Gambhir looked visibly disappointed with the result and the rain after the match. They will look to give it their all to achieve their first win this season.

The middle-order was quite flaky in the previous match and they will look to provide stability this time. Delhi have a lot of firepower in their batting line-up and if they get going, they will easily be able to cross 200. Having not performed in the first two games, they will look to attack the Mumbai bowlers right from the very beginning. With Colin Munro and Glenn Maxwell in their ranks, they would be hopeful of a high score on Wankhede's pitch. Apart from Trent Boult, their bowlers have been a bit inconsistent, and they will look to improve upon this aspect as well. It will be interesting to see if they make any changes to the playing XI.

Both teams would be desperate to get their first win of the season. The defending champions have come extremely close to doing so in the first two games and we could expect them to come out on top in this encounter, given the added advantage of playing at home.
