There's just a week left for the world's most popular domestic T20 league to begin. This year's IPL is set to be a blockbuster event as it marks the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals after both of them served a ban for two years.

All the fans especially the Whistle Podu Army is eagerly waiting for the start of IPL 2018 on 7th April. The first match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Chennai Super Kings has been a team who has never disappointed its fans by their performances. They have always been successful in reaching the playoffs in all the seasons they've played in the tournament history.

The Whistle Podu Army was certainly missed during the last two seasons. But, this year the CSKians are prepared to cheer out loud for their team. Dhoni and Co. would certainly hope to live up to the expectations of their fans.

#1 Mahendra Singh Dhoni - Chennai Super Kings

The captain cool is again back with the Chennai Super Kings and he'll be up to take them to win the coveted title for the 3rd time. Dhoni has been undoubtedly the best wicketkeeper in international cricket for a long time now.

He has the most number of stumping by any wicketkeeper in international cricket with 148 stumpings in 439 matches (till 2017). Dhoni's exceptional wicket-keeping skills have always left the cricket fraternity amazed.

Dhoni is also known as the best player to finish off a game. Who can forget his winning six which made India champions of the 2011 ICC World Cup. In his ODI Career, he has played 318 matches and scored 9967 runs at a sensational average of 51.37.

The captain of CSK has played 159 IPL matches and scored 3561 runs at an impressive average of 37.88. Dhoni will be up to amaze the spectators with his wicket-keeping skills and fiery sixes. He will also be up to bring happiness back to the Whistle Podu army after winning the title.

#2 Suresh Raina - Chennai Super Kings

Raina has made a remarkable comeback in international cricket

The highest run-scorer of the IPL is back to where he started his IPL Career. Raina has made a phenomenal comeback to the Indian team by showing some promising performances on the South African Tour and the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy. Raina has shown his masterclass and we would soon have him in the ODI squad too.

Raina has played 73 T20Is in his career and scored 1499 runs at an astounding strike rate of 133.95. He is one of those batsmen who has scored a T20I hundred for India. Raina also has an experience of 223 ODIs and scored 5568 runs at an extraordinary average of 35.46.

He captained the Gujarat Lions in the past two editions. He has proved to be an effective batsman in the IPL. He has played 161 matches and scored 4540 runs at an incredible strike rate of 139.05. Raina will be up to continue his thunderous batting in the IPL too and possibly go on to secure the orange cap.

#3 Faf du Plessis

We all know about the capabilities that the South African captain persists. His calm and mature batting has always been a treat for the cricket fraternity and he would be looking forward to continuing his performance in this year's IPL too.

Faf has played 39 T20Is in his career and scored 1191 runs at an exceptional strike rate of 133.22. His credibility automatically increases when it comes to his ODI career. He has played 117 matches and scored 4379 runs at an incredible average of 43.79.

Faf is back for CSK after spending two years with Rising Pune Supergiant. In his IPL career, he has scored 1295 runs in his 53 matches at a decent strike rate of 127.96. Faf would be excited to play for CSK again and would love to live up to the expectations of the team

#4 Shane Watson

Watson's experience will be up for altogether a new team

Watson has been one of the best all-rounders in the T20 cricket. Along with his great capabilities in bowling in the death overs, he is also known to provide a strong start to the team while opening the innings.

Watson has played 58 T20Is and scored 1462 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of 145.33. Apart from this, he has also scored a hundred in the T20I.

Watson also has some impressive statistics in his IPL Career where he was a vital cog for the Rajasthan Royals. He has played 102 matches in his IPL Career and scored 2622 runs at a strike rate of 138.66.

Both Watson and Vijay have an experience of over 100 IPL matches and their experience will help the Chennai Super Kings to get off to a good start in the innings.

#5 Dwayne Bravo

DJ Bravo is back to where he started his IPL Career

Dwayne Bravo is back in the den to entertain the spectators with his moves. He is an exceptional all-rounder who has contributed a lot in the domestic as well as international cricket.

In his entire T20 career, he has played a mouthwatering 375 matches and scored 5503 runs at an impressive strike rate of 124..64. He has also bagged 413 wickets at an astounding average of 23.61.

Bravo has always been loved by the cricket fraternity. When it comes to IPL he has always impressed his fans with his astounding performances. In his entire IPL Career, he has played 106 matches and scored 1238 runs at a decent strike rate of 125.94. If we talk about his bowling figures, he has bagged 122 wickets at a remarkable average of 22.27.

Bravo will be up to represent the Chennai Super Kings once again and live up to the expectations of the team as well as his fans by giving some blistering performances.
