IPL 2019: 3 KXIP Players to watch

Kings XI Punjab is one of the lesser-successful teams in the IPL history as they have never won the IPL title and have finished in top 4 just two times. Last season, KXIP were at their very best in the first half of the tournament as they won 5 out 7 matches they played.

But the story was totally different in the second half of the tournament as they could only manage to win just 1 out 7 matches they played and finished at number 7 in the points table.

So they will surely want to turn things around by conquering the tournament this time around as they have a quite balanced squad.

Here, we will take a look at three players from Kings XI Punjab to watch out for in the forthcoming edition of IPL.

#3 Andrew Tye

Andrew Tye will be the main bowler of Kings XI Punjab this season

Aussie medium-pacer Andrew Tye is currently one of the best bowlers in the shortest format of the game. His wicket-taking ability and variations make him an asset in T20 cricket. Hence he will be one of the most important players for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019.

The T20 specialist was the leading wicket taker and hence the Purple-Cap winner in the previous season of IPL with 24 wickets from 14 matches at an astonishing average of 18.66 and economy rate of 8.00. Kings XI Punjab will be expecting Andrew Tye to do the same in IPL 2019.

His overall IPL numbers are also quite impressive as he has taken 36 wickets from 20 matches at an excellent average of 16.36 and economy rate of 7.64 with 5/17 being his best figures. The 32-year-old will be looking forward to continuing his dominance in IPL 2019 as well.

#2 David Miller

David Miller has not yet reached the heights he would have envisaged in the IPL

A destructive left-hand batsman from South Africa, David Miller is a dangerous T20 batsman. 'Killer-Miller' is one of those batsmen who has the ability to win matches single-handedly for his team and so will be a crucial player for KXIP in the upcoming season of IPL.

However, the 29-year-old has not gotten enough opportunities in the last two seasons of IPL as he has played just 8 matches in these two seasons. A player like him deserves more opportunities than this as he is someone who can change the course of the match on his own.

David Miller has played a total of 69 matches in IPL and has scored 1637 runs at a good average of 35.59 and an impressive strike rate of 140.03 with 8 fifties and one hundred. A match-winning 101 is his highest score in the tournament which came against Royal Challengers Bangalore during IPL 2013.

#1 KL Rahul

KL Rahul will be one of the most important players for KXIP this year

The stylish right-hand batsman, KL Rahul was one of the star performers for Kings XI Punjab in the previous season of IPL as he had scored 659 runs from 14 matches at an extremely good average of 54.91 and an excellent strike rate of 158.41. He was the third leading run-scorer in the season. KXIP will have high hopes from KL Rahul in IPL 2019 as well.

He also broke the record of fastest IPL fifty in IPL 2018 when he completed his 50 off just 14 balls against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

In his IPL career, KL Rahul has scored 1384 runs from 53 matches at a good average of 38.44 and an impressive strike rate of 139.38 with the help of 10 fifties.

The 26-year-old will be looking forward to making a mark in IPL 2019 as well. It will be worth watching KL Rahul in the upcoming season of IPL.
