#2 Jason Holder

Holder is an ideal T20 player who can contribute crucial runs down the order as well as bowl scorching spells. With Pollard failing to fire last season, Mumbai must go for a player like Holder who, at just INR 75 lakhs, would be a bargain buy.
The Windies skipper has been exceptional across formats for quite some time and it was surprising to see him go unsold at the auction. Malinga's absence can be a blessing in disguise for Mumbai as the 27-year-old Holder can become a valuable addition to the Mumbai squad.
#3 Dale Steyn

The South African speed gun would be an ideal replacement for the fiery Lasith Malinga with his bowling credentials, pace and IPL experience.
Though he last played an IPL game in 2016, Steyn is still in the scheme of things especially when it comes to T20s. The 35-year-old finished the inaugural Mzansi Super League last year as his side's (Cape Town Blitz) highest wicket taker with 12 wickets in nine matches at an economy of 6.48.
Steyn, who went unsold at this year's auction with a base price of INR 1.5 crore, can light up Mumbai's bowling if he is roped in for Malinga.
