IPL 2019: 3 stats that prove Mumbai Indians has dominated Chennai Super Kings in IPL history
#2 The lowest score of CSK came against MI:
Chennai Super Kings is the most consistent team in IPL when it comes to batting. If we ask you to recollect when was the last time CSK was bowled out for less than 100 runs in the IPL, you would struggle to answer because there haven't been many such instances. However, the Chennai based team got bowled out cheaply once in IPL history, and the opponent was Mumbai Indias.
It happened during the 49th match of 2013 season. Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first on a relatively tough pitch. They managed to score 139/5 in 20 overs. Chasing the modest target, CSK lost early wickets to Mitchell Johnson, and post that they kept losing wickets.
They eventually got bowled out for 79 runs. This is still the lowest score ever recorded by Chennai Super Kings in IPL history. Even when it comes to high scoring games, Chennai has scored over 200 runs only once against Mumbai. On the other side, the Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians have done it twice against their rivals.Published 17 Feb 2019, 17:30 IST
