Monu Kumar, the fast bowler from Ranchi made his List A debut way back in 2014. However, he had to wait on the bench for consistent opportunities to represent his state side. He is yet to play first-class cricket but has played 16 domestic T20s to date and has picked up 19 wickets at an economy of 6.59.

He was among the top wicket-takers in the 2017-18 national T20 championship. He was also part of the Under-19 side that took part in the 2014 World Cup. His raw pace turned many heads at the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament and resulted in him getting picked up by Chennai Super Kings at the auction.

He also has a decent batting technique and is very much capable of rotating the strike during tough situations. Considering his pace, the CSK think tank might be tempted to use him on flat and hard tracks such as Mohali and Wankhede.
