Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best openers in world cricket currently. The Delhi cricketer's performance in the Indian Premier League has been brilliant too. He has been one of the stalwarts of the tournament and was one of the key reasons behind Sunrisers Hyderabad's successful campaign in the IPL 2016. During the pre-season trade window of the IPL 2019, the 33-year-old became a part of the Delhi Capitals, after a trade with the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After this homecoming, the Delhi Cricketer played his first IPL match in DC's season opener against the Mumbai Indians. He had a good outing as he scored 43 runs in that game. Shikhar played his second match of the season today and he had a good outing yet again. The lad, slowly and steadily, went on to score a half-century. On such a slow wicket, he scored 51 invaluable runs for his team. It was his 33rd IPL 50 and he now stands 6th in the list of most no. of half-centuries and needs just 5 more to surpass David Warner (37).
