Probably no player in the world values patience in T20 cricket more than MS Dhoni, and his ability to take the game until the last over and perform under immense pressure is unmatched. But this was a rare outing where MSD’s calculations went horribly wrong during a chase as CSK were left to achieve 77 runs in the last 5 overs. MS Dhoni came in to bat when CSK were 33-3 at the end of 5 overs. He consistently gave the strike to Kedar Jadhav, who did hit a few boundaries in Bumrah’s 1st over but Mumbai had a variety of bowlers to stop him from attacking easily. At this stage of his career, Dhoni needs someone to attack from one end and that did not happen in this match. He did not have any other plan. When he finally fell to Hardik Pandya in the 15th over, the run-rate was beyond control and Mumbai Indians won the game easily.
