One can argue that Sunrisers Hyderabad relied completely on David Warner and Jonny Bairstow in the batting department, but it was impressive to see Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson to take command in the later stages of the tournament. There are many players who can make it to this list. Vijay Shankar wasn't as effective as one would have hoped. Shankar had a very unimpressive tournament considering he strengthens the Indian Team as a fast-bowling all-rounder.

However, Yusuf Pathan remains to be the worst performer for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pathan, who is known for his power-hitting was particularly ineffective in this year's IPL. In 10 matches, he scored 40 runs with a strike rate of 88.88. Sunrisers Hyderabad could have gained a lot from Yusuf Pathan's experience in the shorter format of the game. He should have been the power hitter, lower down the order, all the while putting some pressure off of the top order. Yusuf Pathan's inconsistency cost Sunrisers Hyderabad those few extra runs that could have been crucial in the match. The death over hitting was hardly seen from SRH, except a few that came from the bat of Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi.
