A selection made by RCB this year which baffles me is the backing of Akshdeep Nath. He was clearly failing in almost every match and yet he was backed more than Hetmyer which really didn't make much sense. In the 8 matches Nath played, he just scored 61 runs at an average of 12.

Bringing in Gurkeerat Singh should have done much earlier by the looks of every other batsmen's failure in the middle order. He is an experienced cricketer who has played at the IPL level for many years and in the matches that he was played in, he showed exactly why he should have been picked more frequently.

In the three matches that he played, he scored 98 runs at an average of 33 which is far better from what we saw with Nath. At least, next year, Kohli would start with Gurkeerat over Nath.
