Indian veteran Yuvraj Singh is one of the major reasons why India won the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup. The Punjab born left-hander won the 'Man of the Tournament' award in the 2011 World cup and his six hitting fest during the inaugural T20 is still fresh in the memories of many cricket fans.

The T20 star went unsold in the recent IPL auctions in the first couple of rounds. CSK hinted that they might go for him, but eventually didn't and this made the fans upset, as they thought Yuvraj might not play in the upcoming season.

From out of nowhere, Mumbai Indians bought him at the last minute. Fans were elated to see this during the IPL auction.

With the IPL set to begin on 23rd March, teams and players are engaging in some funny Twitter banter.

The Mumbai Indians captain responded to his tweet:

The fans are excited to see both the champion players together on the field. Mumbai plays their first IPL game against Delhi on 24th March at the Wankhade stadium.

The T20 star has had a mixed career in the IPL. Yuvraj played for Kings XI Punjab for the first two seasons and in 2009, he took his first IPL hat- trick at Durban, which is notably, the same ground he smashed Stuart Broad for 6 sixes in an over.

In the 2014 IPL auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for 14 cr, which was the most expensive buy at that time. Again in 2015, Delhi bought him for 16 cr, which has been the most expensive buy till date. Finally, he was back to Kings XI Punjab again in the 2018 season but was released by them before the 2019 IPL auction.

This year might just be the year for Yuvraj in the IPL.
