The BCCI committee announced the time table for the first two weeks of IPL 2019. The remaining dates will be announced once the central government announces the dates for the elections. The 2018 IPL champions Chennai Super Kings will play the opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. It is also confirmed that the 2019 IPL finals will take place in Chennai.

Each team is likely to play a minimum of four games in the first two-week window. Two games will be played at home, and two will be away games. BCCI also confirmed that there will not be an opening ceremony for the 2019 IPL season. The first game is set to begin on the 23rd of March.

Let's have look at the Mumbai Indians roster for the first two weeks:

#1 MI vs DC (24th March 2019)

Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians begin their IPL campaign against the new-look Delhi Capitals on 24th March, at Wankhede Stadium. It will be an evening clash. Mumbai generally don't start well, and they have never won an opening IPL game under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. It's something they would like to erase from their IPL records book.

Delhi is one of the few teams to dominate the three-time champions Mumbai in IPL history. They have both played each other 22 times in IPL, and each of them has won 11 times. So it will not be an easy opening game for the Mumbai outfit, given their track-record in the first game in every season. On the other side, a new look Delhi Capitals would love to start the campaign on a winning note. So it's going to be a cracker of an opening game for the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

#2 MI vs RCB (28th March 2019)

Mumbai Indians are set to play their second game against RCB on 28th March evening at Bengaluru. It's a clash between the Indian captain and vice-captain. This is one of the epic clashes the IPL fans are eagerly waiting to see. The game will be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium, where the pitch usually supports the batsmen. It is one of the grounds where the most number of sixes have been hit in IPL history. So, we could see a run fest from both the champion batsmen.

When it comes to the IPL track record, Mumbai has the upper hand against Kohli's RCB. Rohit's team has won 14 times in their 23 encounters. Rohit Sharma has won the IPL thrice, whereas Kohli is looking to win his first IPL tournament. Hence, each game is important for both of them. The last time when these two played at Bangalore, RCB won a close game by 14 runs.

#3 MI vs KXIP (30th March 2019)

Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab

Mumbai Indians will play their 3rd game against Kings XI Punjab on the 30th March at Mohali. It's a third straight evening game for them. Whenever these two sides meet each other, it always takes us down the memory lane of the 2008 clash. It's when Yuvraj did a Jonty Rhodes to affect the match winning run when Mumbai needed two runs on the last ball in the 2008 season.

Interestingly, Yuvraj Singh will now wear a Mumbai Indians jersey and the Mumbai fans are excited to see the Indian veteran cricketer on their team. These teams matched each other well in the IPL, with Mumbai winning 12 games out of the 22 that have played so far, while Punjab has won ten times. When they met the last time, it was an epic high scoring thriller. Mumbai scored 186 runs batting first, and Punjab came very near and lost by three runs. KL Rahul missed an epic century by three runs.

#4 MI vs CSK (3rd April 2019)

The day after India's World Cup winning day, it will be a clash between arch-rivals Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. It's one of the encounters that the IPL fans are dying to see. Both Rohit and Dhoni have won the IPL trophies thrice. They are the most successful IPL captains in the tournament's history.

Mumbai is also the only team to have more than 50% wins against the most successful IPL team. These two have met each other 24 times in IPL history, and Mumbai have won 13 of them, with Chennai winning 11 times. Last season, they played each other in the opening game. CSK won the game in a last-ball thriller, courtesy of an epic knock from Dwayne Bravo.
