#3 Colin Ingram
The South African middle-order batsman might not have played much for his country but when it comes to T20 leagues, he is a veteran. The 34-year-old has played over 250 T20s and has captained his T20 Blast (Glamorgan) and Big Bash League (Adelaide Strikers) teams.
In addition to the above point, Kings XI Punjab lack strength in their middle-order and the addition of Colin Ingram can fulfill that as well. With a power-packed top-order in KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, they can bank upon the calmness of the southpaw to be their skipper as well as middle-order mainstay.
Moises Henriques is another T20 veteran who can take over as the captain of Kings XI Punjab this year. The Australian can bring balance to their squad and with an experience of 191 T20 matches, could lead the team with aplomb.
The 32-year-old is currently captaining his Big Bash League team, Sydney Sixers, and also led them to the championship in the inaugural edition of the Australian T20 league. Having picked him the IPL auction before, KXIP might give him another go, this time with responsibility on his shoulders.
#1 Eoin Morgan
The English captain has recently led his side to their maiden World Cup title and doesn't really need to justify his position to become Kings XI Punjab's new captain. Morgan has been leading England in ODIs and T20Is since a long time and is one of their most successful captains ever.
The 33-year-old has played 111 ODIs for England as a captain and has led them to victory 68 times. Coming to the Punjab-based franchise, Morgan can be slotted into their fragile middle-order with an added role of captaining the side.
