In what will be the final league game of the season, Gujarat Titans (GT) are set to lock horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, May 21.

RCB, so far, have played 13 games with seven wins and six losses. With 14 points and a net run rate (NRR) of +0.180, they are positioned fourth in the table. The team would look to come together with their best performance and ensure a playoffs berth for themselves with a win.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans were the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They will finish the league stage as the table-toppers, irrespective of their result against the Challengers. GT are set to play Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Qualifier 1.

Every IPL game offers both teams a chance to reach a certain milestone and some records are on the verge of being shattered during the upcoming game as well. On that note, let's take a look at the top three milestones that could be reached in tonight's RCB vs GT fixture.

#3 Harshal Patel could bag his 100th wicket for RCB

Although he has leaked runs at an economy rate of 9.88 runs per over in IPL 2023, Harshal Patel has taken a total of 13 wickets across 12 innings for RCB.

In total, the death-over specialist has bagged 98 wickets at a great strike rate of 16.4 across 79 matches for the franchise. He is the second-highest wicket-taker in RCB history.

Another two scalps against GT will make Harshal the first-ever pacer to bag 100 wickets for RCB.

#2 Shubman Gill could complete 2,500 runs in IPL

What a year this is turning out to be for Shubman Gill. The youngster dominated in the blues of India before scoring runs for fun in the ongoing IPL 2023.

The GT opener is the fourth-highest run-getter of the season with 576 runs at a strike rate of 146.19.

Overall, Gill has mustered 2,476 runs at an average of 34.87 and a strike rate of just below 130. Another 24 runs will take Shubman Gill to 2,500 runs in the history of the marquee league.

Gill's 1,059 runs out of his total tally have come for the Gujarat franchise. While, he has garnered his other 1,417 runs for previous franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

#1 Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis could become the most successful batting pair in a T20 series

Inarguably, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have been the best opening pair in the tournament so far. The two right-handers have notched up four 50+ and three 100+ partnerships at the top of the order for RCB.

In their last fixture against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the duo added 172 runs and won a crucial game for the team.

In total, Faf and Kohli have added 872 runs alongside each other in IPL 2023 for RCB. If they add another opening partnership of 68 runs against GT, Faf and Kohli will become the duo to score the most runs by a pair in any T20 series (for any wicket).

The record is currently held by Kohli and AB de Villiers, who together amassed 939 runs during IPL 2016.
