Prior to releasing many players from their squad, the Mumbai Indians purchased the services of Quinton de Kock from the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They released four foreigners, namely JP Duminy, Pat Cummins, Mustafizur Rahman, and Akila Dananjaya.

However, they will be allowed to go for just one overseas player in the auction. They will look to get back to winning ways next season after finishing fifth on the table this year.

The Royals, who finished fourth on the table last season, released quite a few foreigners from their side, including the likes of D'Arcy Short, Ben Laughlin, and Heinrich Klaasen.

They have 9 slots available for the upcoming auction and will be allowed to pick three foreigners in their side. It will be interesting to see who they go for.
