The IPL Auction for the 2019 edition is around the corner in which over thousand players will be going under the hammer out of which just 70 will be getting a spot in any one of the eight franchises. The auction will this time take place on December 18 in Jaipur for the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier league which is expected to take place in late March next year.

These auctions always come up with a surprise at the end of the for everyone whether it be contracting a not-so-known player for a huge amount or letting the stars of the game unsold. Here are three such superstars of the game who went unsold in 2018 but can grab massive bids this time around.

#3 Hashim Amla

After a commendable season in 2017, Kings XI Punjab let off Hashim Amla in the next year's auction and surprisingly he went unsold as none of the franchise bid for him. The South African made 420 runs in 2017 at an average of over 60 which also included two centuries but still failed to grab a team for himself in the sequential year.

After seeing his consistency at the top order for which most of the teams will be looking for this time, Amla is expected to grab a decent deal for himself. He is also doing reasonably well at the ongoing Mzansi Super League for his home side Durban Heat which is an important thing to keep in mind at the time of the auctions.

Everyone has a misconception that Amla is not a goos T20 player but his numbers don't suggest so as he averages over 32 with a decent strike rate of around 130 in this format which such a consistency.

#2 Nicholas Pooran

West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran grabbed all the eyeballs during the recently concluded T10 League where he ended as the leading run scorer with 324 runs at a massive strike rate of 245.45 which helped his team Northern Warriors in winning the campaign.

Apart from the T10 League, Pooran has shown his potential in other T20 Leagues like the Caribbean Premier League, Pakistan Super League and Bangladesh Premier League as well. He also did well in the 2018 T20I series against India where he scored a 25-ball half-century at Chennai.

His current T20 form and strike rate is expected to set a bidding war at this year's auctions as his presence can prove to be a match winning aspect for any team as he can turn the course of play in a matter of few deliveries.

#1 Johnny Bairstow

Johnny Bairstow is one of the most consistent batsman at the moment. He proved his dynamic ability by smashing a 24-ball 84 in the recent T10 League for Kerala Knights. His firmness in the middle order can help a lot in anchoring the side and preventing it from collapses.

The Englishman is one of those players on which all eyeballs will be struck at the time of auctions keeping in mind his current form and what he brings to the side. His wicket-keeping skills are another plus point.

The only thing that can constrain the side from buying will be his unavailability for the rest of the tournament as the England Cricket Board have announced all its players to return midway in the season but the franchises should not shy off from rendering his services in the early part of the tournament.
