West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo claimed an unbelievable 32 wickets in 18 matches in the 2013 edition, playing for CSK. Bravo averaged 15.53 at a strike rate of 11.71 and an economy rate of 7.95.

His best of 4 for 42 came against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens in the final. CSK, however, lost the summit clash by 23 runs.

Earlier, in Qualifier 1, against the same side at Delhi, Bravo claimed sensational figures of 3 for 9 as CSK registered a comprehensive 48-run win.

Another CSK bowler dominated the proceedings in 2014. Medium pacer Mohit Sharma picked up 23 wickets in 16 games while averaging 19.65 at a strike rate of 14.04. His economy rate though was on the higher side, at 8.39.

Sharma’s best of 4 for 14 came against famous rivals Mumbai Indians in the 13th match at Dubai. Sharma sent back Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu to restrict Mumbai for 141. CSK won the game by seven wickets.

Chennai went down to Punjab in the second qualifier as Virender Sehwag smashed 122. Sharma was taken for 46 in his four overs.

Dwayne Bravo won his second Purple Cap in 2015. In 17 matches, he picked up 26 wickets at an average of 16.38 and a strike rate of 12.07. His economy rate in the season was 8.14.

Bravo’s best of 3 for 22 came against KKR at Chennai in the 28th match of the season. The versatile bowler dismissed Yusuf Pathan, Pat Cummins and Piyush Chawla as CSK won a close contest by two runs.

CSK, however, went down to Mumbai in the final by 41 runs, set to chase 203 at Kolkata. Bravo picked up 2 for 36 in the final.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s medium pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler in 2016, with 23 wickets in 17 matches at an average of 21.30 and a strike rate of 17.21. He maintained a reasonable economy rate of 7.42.

His best of 4 for 29 came against Gujarat Lions at Saurashtra in the 15th match. Kumar bowled Aaron Finch for 0 and got the big scalp of Suresh Raina (75) to restrict the Lions to 135. Hyderabad went on to win the contest by 10 wickets.

Defending a target of 209 against RCB, Hyderabad won the final by eight runs. Kumar conceded only 25 runs in his four overs, without claiming a wicket.
