Mohit Sharma made his IPL debut for MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2013, and the young talent from Haryana impressed the fans with his superb performances with the ball. Primarily an opening bowler, Mohit has also evolved into a capable death bowler while playing in the Indian Premier League.

Mohit moved to the Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2016 and represented the Preity Zinta owned franchise for 3 seasons. He was released by Kings XI ahead of the 2019 IPL auction and was snapped up by CSK once again.

#3 3/23 vs Rising Pune Supergiant, IPL 2016

In the 10th match of the 2016 season of IPL, Kings XI Punjab hosted Rising Pune Supergiant at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. MS Dhoni's Rising Pune Supergiant batted first and the team got off to a sound start as Steve Smith and Faf du Plessis' splendid partnership powered the side to 139/3 in 17.4 overs.

However, in the slog overs, Mohit Sharma completely derailed the RPS innings. He first dismissed Steve Smith in the 18th over before sending du Plessis back to the pavilion on the first ball of the 20th over. On the very next ball, he picked the wicket of MS Dhoni, the man who played a huge role in his rise.

This mini collapse helped Kings XI restrict Pune to a total of 152. Half-centuries from Manan Vohra and Murali Vijay ensured that the home team won the match easily.

#2 3/10 vs Delhi Capitals, IPL 2013

In his debut season, Mohit Sharma was used as a strike bowler by MS Dhoni in the powerplay overs. Playing against a star-studded Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) side, the young pacer did not shy away from playing his natural game.

Chennai Super Kings batted first in that match and posted a defendable score of 169 on the board. However, with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Mahela Jayawardene and David Warner in the opposition batting unit, this total looked chasable. Mohit Sharma bowled the second over of the Delhi innings and rattled the stumps of David Warner to give CSK the first breakthrough. In the same over, he dismissed no.3 batsman Manprit Juneja to shift the momentum in CSK's favor.

In his next over, he scalped the wicket of Virender Sehwag to complete his 3-wicket haul in just 7 deliveries. Sharma finished with figures of 3/10 as CSK won the match by a huge margin of 86 runs.

#1 4/14 vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2014

Mohit Sharma's best IPL performance came against the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2014. Playing in the Dubai International Stadium, MI won the toss and elected to bat first. The team got off to a disastrous start as they lost Michael Hussey in the 2nd over itself. To make matters worse for Mumbai Indians, Mohit Sharma dismissed Aditya Tare in the 5th over.

Corey Anderson and Rohit Sharma built a solid partnership as MI bounced back in the match. With 6 wickets in hand and Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu at the crease in the 19th over, it looked like the two big hitters would push MI towards a grand total.

But, Mohit Sharma completely stunned the Mumbai Indians supporters by picking 3 wickets (Pollard, Rayudu and Harbhajan Singh) in the 19th over and MI could only reach 141/7 in their 20 overs.

Chennai Super Kings easily won that match with 7 wickets and 6 balls to spare in the end.
