But a youngster name Rohit Sharma had other plans. This is one of the innings that helped him in making Eden Gardens his paradise.
Coming in at number 3, after an early departure of Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit started playing his shots from the ball 1. He took a special liking to the fast bowlers to whom he was hitting for boundaries as per his desires. He got to his fifty in just 29 balls and went on to score his first and only hundred in IPL. He finished with an unbeaten score of 109 runs in 60 balls, which included 12 fours and 5 sixes.Published 12 Feb 2019, 17:06 IST
