Mumbai Indian have always been one of the dominating sides in IPL and 2012 was no exception. They were cruising swiftly through the tournament when the Knight Riders' challenge came their way.

KKR had a good track record at home and Mumbai needed a good score to even come closer to them. They had some quality bowlers like Sunil Narine, Bret Lee, Shakib Al Hasan and Jacques Kallis who could take the game away from their oppositions in just 10-12 overs. But a youngster name Rohit Sharma had other plans. This is one of the innings that helped him in making Eden Gardens his paradise.

Coming in at number 3, after an early departure of Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit started playing his shots from the ball 1. He took a special liking to the fast bowlers to whom he was hitting for boundaries as per his desires. He got to his fifty in just 29 balls and went on to score his first and only hundred in IPL. He finished with an unbeaten score of 109 runs in 60 balls, which included 12 fours and 5 sixes.
