Another one sided match done and dusted then. Do join us for the big one tomorrow. It will be Mumbai taking on the mighty Bangalore at Wankhede. See you then. Good night!!

KKR should be extremely satisfied with their clinical performance tonight. Punjab will be gutted for not competing at all! Uthappa with a fifty to his name, was outstanding at the top with Gambhir playing second fiddle. Later the game was finished by the likes of Pandey and Yadav. Even Pathan got a couple of boundaries in the end. Robin Uthappa is the man of the match for his quickfire fifty and some excellent work behind the stumps.

Welcome to the live blog of the match between KKR and KXIP.

The Kings XI Punjab host the Kolkata Knight Riders at the PCA Stadium, Mohali for Match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2016. Both teams come into this match after having won their previous encounters and would look take the momentum forward into the league. While Punjab had defeated Pune at home in their previous game to open their account in the IPL 2016, the Knight Riders secured an impressive away victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 16. You can follow Live Scores and commentary for today’s IPL match between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with us here.

While Yadav picked up 3 wickets in KKR's previous game against SRH, Morkel chipped in with two and Russell finished with one wicket to restrict the opposition to a measly total of 142/7. The platform was then laid for the KKR batsmen to complete a relatively easy run chase with Gambhir and Uthappa, for the umpteenth time, leading the way. As for the team combination, it is highly unlikely that Gambhir would be tempted to make changes to the winning combination, as the team clicked together perfectly in the previous game. Bringing back Brad Hogg, who was out with food poisoning in the last game, would mean dropping either Morkel or Narine, both of whom did well in the last game. So, it is likely to be another unlucky miss for the veteran.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS: Gautam Gambhir has been in some rampaging form since the inception of the tournament and is currently the Orange Cap holder with 192 runs from 3 games, and his opening partnership with Robin Uthappa has been doing wonders for the team. In Manish Pandey and Shakib-Al-Hasan they have two of the best middle order batsmen in IPL cricket. Andre Russell, Suryakumar Yadav, Yusuf Pathan constitute the lower-middle order and they have some serious hitting abilities. Brad Hogg, Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine form a formidable trio of spin bowling capable enough of running through any batting line up. And, in Morne Morkel and Umesh Yadav they have fast bowlers with serious pace.

KINGS XI PUNJAB: As for Punjab, Glenn Maxwell's late cameo in the last game, wherein he finished the game for his side against the Rising Pune Supergiants after having come in to bat in a precarious situation, would give them a lot of joy, as he has been one of the mainstays for the team over the past three years and had failed to perform in the first couple of games. Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra have been sublime at the top of the order, and both batsmen scored big runs in their previous match to provide Punjab with a solid start. However, Shaun Marsh and David Miller, the other superstars of the Punjab line-up have been unimpressive in the tournament so far and they got out for single digit scores in the last game as well. That would be a cause of concern for them. Had it not been for Glenn Maxwell's counter-attack towards the fag end of the innings, Punjab would have still been win-less in the tournament. But that was not to be, as Maxwell regained some lost from through a brilliant cameo of 32 off 14 with 3 fours and 2 sixes to swing the match in KXIP's favour and win them their first IPL game of the season. It must also be remembered, that the run chase of 153 against Pune was set up by the bowlers, who did exceptionally well to restrict strong Pune line-up to 152. Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 3/23 in his 4 overs, while Sandeep Sharma and Kyle Abbott chipped in with 2 wickets and 1 wicket respectively. Pradeep Sahu, the leg spinner, has also been impressive for Punjab in the few opportunities that he has got so far.
