N Srinivasan won't 'resign' as BCCI President; Jagmohan Dalmiya takes interim control

After a three hour long drama that unravelled, Naryanaswamy Srinivasan decided not to resign and will only step aside ‘while the probe goes on.’

BCCI’s official Twitter account announced:

Meanwhile, Jagmohan Dalmiya will take over control of the ‘day to day affairs of the board’. Jagmohan Dalmiya has been the former BCCI as well as the ICC president and has a vast experience in cricket administration.

In a move which is expected to take Srinivasan out of the spotlight, it is understood that he has been asked to go on a leave for a month.

Srinivasan was under pressure to resign ever since Mumbai police arrested Gurunath Meiyappan, who is the son-in-law of Srinivasan and a high ranking official of Chennai Super Kings, for alleged involvement in the betting with actor Vindoo Dara Singh. Now there are doubts about what will happen to the Srinivasan appointed three man committee which includes a two former judges of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu High Court along with Sanjay Jagdale, who has now resigned.
