KKR's Team India star gets engaged in Lucknow post IPL 2025 [Watch]

Indian cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh got engaged to Priya Saroj on Sunday, June 8, in Lucknow. Priya is a lawyer and politician affiliated with the Samajwadi Party. She is a first-time Member of Parliament representing the Machhlishahr constituency in Jaunpur and is the daughter of Tufani Saroj, a three-time MP and the current MLA from Uttar Pradesh.

The engagement ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Congress leader and BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, as well as Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who was accompanied by his wife and fellow politician Dimple Yadav.

On the cricketing front, the 27-year-old last featured for KKR in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). The three-time champions had a disappointing campaign under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership, finishing eighth on the points table with 12 points from 14 matches.

Rinku had an underwhelming campaign himself, scoring 206 runs in 11 innings at an average of 29.42 and maintaining a strike rate of 153.73. Overall, the left-handed batter has appeared in 59 IPL matches, all for Kolkata Knight Riders, accumulating 1,099 runs at an average of 30.52 and a strike rate of 145.17, including four half-centuries.

Rinku Singh has represented India in 35 matches across both white-ball formats

Rinku Singh made his India debut in a T20I game against Ireland in 2023. Since then, he has played 33 matches in the format, scoring 546 runs at an impressive average of 42.00 and a striking strike rate of 161.06.

He has registered three half-centuries, with a career-best unbeaten 69 off 39 balls against Afghanistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in 2024.

In addition to his T20I appearances, Rinku has also played two ODIs for India, where he has scored 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike rate of 134.14, with a top score of 38.
