Gujarat Titans (GT) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by three wickets in the 37th match of IPL 2024 on Sunday, April 21. Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur hosted the clash. Courtesy of the win, GT moved up to sixth position in the points table.
After opting to bat first, PBKS could only score 142 before losing all the wickets. Prabhsimran Singh (35), Harpreet Brar (29), and Sam Curran (20) performed decently for the hosts in the batting unit. Rashid Khan (1/15), Noor Ahmad (2/20), and R Sai Kishore (4/33) were star performers for GT with the ball.
In response, GT got off to a steady start with a decent knock from captain Shubman Gill (35). Liam Livingstone dismissed him and David Miller to give PBKS a ray of hope in the contest. Other bowlers also did a good job and put GT under pressure in the second half of the innings. Rahul Tewatia held his composure and played a cameo of 36* (18), taking his side over the line in 19.1 overs.

"Just giving my hand to my team. I'm playing after 20-25 days, so it was just going out there, enjoying and giving everything for my team. Ashish Nehra created an excellent environment, encouraging us to play fearless cricket and give everything for the team."
He added:
"It enabled me to just go out there and enjoy myself. It was just instinctive, to bowl into the wicket and change of pace was the way. Rahul played an amazing knock, Rashid and Noor bowled really well, it was a total team effort. Like growing my hair, haven't done anything specific, it's just growing naturally."
