Parag was last seen in action during the IPL 2025, where he captained the Rajasthan-based side in eight games. He was handed the crucial leadership position as regular skipper Sanju Samson struggled with injury concerns.

After the gruelling season, Parag unwound by playing golf in England. Sharing the video on his Instagram story, the talented youngster wrote:

"Bucket list ✅."

Riyan Parag had his second-best IPL season this year, amassing 393 runs across 14 innings at a strike rate of 166.52. He was RR's second-highest run-getter of the edition. The inaugural champions failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing ninth in the points table with four wins from 14 fixtures.

Reflecting on his campaign, Parag pointed out that he got off to decent starts multiple times but failed to convert them into substantial scores. He suggested that RR's fate would have been different had he got a few big runs under his belt.

He said in a pre-game interview ahead of RR's final league match (via the Times of India):

"I have gotten a lot of starts. I have failed to convert most of them. I feel if I did convert at least fifty percent of the starts I got, I could have put our team in a different position. I try to be hard on myself and see what can be done differently."

It is worth mentioning that Parag was retained by RR for ₹14 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. He has been part of the Rajasthan camp since 2019.
